LEGISLATIVE REPORT 2 FEB 2015

WEEK OF 2 FEB 2015

After a week’s lull for committee activity, the Colorado legislators have resumed  dropping more bills.  As usual, the approve/oppose note is one man’s opinion–if you wish to do your own research, you can access all of the proposed laws at:

As an aside, many of you have used the Federal address of Thomas.gov. There is now a new, additional, website–Congress.gov–that looks different and has a few different resources.

2015 COLORADO LEGISLATION

An update on SB 15-073–an effort to reduce the number of mandated standardized tests.  So far I have talked to three school administrators and they unanimously approve passage.  Now they spend up to 11 weeks equivalence on administering these tests, which detracts from classroom instruction.  They hope this bill would reduce that time to about 3-4 weeks.
