Twenty five new bills dropped this week. Of the 13 introduced in the House, 10 were introduced after the deadline. In the Senate only 3 of the 12 were late. I have copied the entry from the schedule:
BILL REQUESTS AND GENERAL SESSION DEADLINE FOR:
April 18 (Tuesday) Introducing bills. 100th Day
SB23-285 Energy And Carbon Management Regulation In Colorado
Forty nine more pages of regulation, mostly on geothermal projects.
SB23-288 Coverage For Doula Services
Any body know what ‘douha’ is? And why the taxpayer has to pay for it?
SB23-290 Natural Medicine Regulation And Legalization
Setting up the regulatory process as a result of the ‘mushroom bill’ last year
SB23-291 Utility Regulation
Just one example of how bad this bill is”
‘Section 3 prohibits an investor-owned electric or gas utility from recovering various costs from its customers, including:’
SB23-292 Labor Requirements For Energy Sector Construction
A big gift to the labor unions.
SB23-295 Colorado River Drought Task Force
The purpose seems laudable but some of the provisions are questionable.
That’s it for now. Allergy season is upon me and I am out of energy. I will deal with the House bills in a few days.
